Nicky Romero drops his interpretation of the well-known classic by Groove Armada and it rocks, hard! The vocals on this release are exclusively re-done by the original singer of Groove Armada. As soon as the bootleg version began circulating, DJs and club goers alike knew this would be a big one! Immediately adopted by a huge list of DJs like Fedde Le Grand, Axwell, Laidback Luke, Sander van Doorn, Dirty South and Funkaganda to name a few, Spinnin Records was quick to snatch it up for a proper release.

Leaders Of The New School’s latest bomb is a collaborative project between Paul Thomas, Myke Smith and vocalist Matt White. The original mix is a bangin’ progressive monster with classic synth stabs and a splash of techno rides. A bubbling analogue line keeps things moving while Matt White’s spoken word gives the cut a perfect human touch. Additional remixes from newcomer ‘P.T.M’ and rising star ‘Joey Seminara’ complete the package with fresh perspectives.

This time he works his magic on Reboot’s ‘Enjoy Music’ and delivers another home run for Defected. This summer ‘Enjoy Music’ was Pete’s essential new tune and it’s back with a vengeance with Starr’s new take.

‘Kazane’ is one of these groundbreaking tracks which Carl Cox originally signed to his legendary label Intec. Unfortunately Intec has long been out of DJs hands, with no new releases for many years, and this track from Japanese producer / DJ Hiroki Esashika had been lost in the archives. So let’s give it a second try with huge new mixes from the Australian superhero Tommy Trash and hot new British duo known as Disco of Doom (AKA Tom Real & The Rogue Element).

The release has returned with its second set of remixes, this time from the legendary George Acosta (Planet Soul) and electro house / progressive house maestro Maurizio Gubellini.

Audiofun "Sirens" EP

Sunday, January 10th, 2010

Clearly not wasting any time, AudioFun first arrived to the scene in February 2009 with a slew of tracks which gained support from everyone from Kissy Sell Out, Herve, DJ Dan to the Japanese Popstars. Obviously Norman Cook is also a fan, as he has graciously swooped up AudioFun’s next release. A four track electro house monster that means serious business and proves that AudioFun’s gonna be around for a long, long time.

This double A-side release marks 16 Bit Lolitas’ long-awaited return and serves up another two slices of the finer side of progressive house. Kicking things off is ‘Cold Energy’; insistent, hypnotic bass lines, tenderly resonating vocals and chilly atmospheres present a shadowy, twilight feel to the track. The meandering ‘Smoke Signals’ then proceeds to close the EP with a heads down cut featuring eight minutes of spine-chilling soundscapes and undeniably eerie melodies.
